Imatinib in COVID-19: hope and caution

this drug has been widely used as first-line therapy in chronic myeloid leukaemia and is also indicated for other conditions (eg, gastrointestinal stromal tumours), showing a safety profile that could be considered optimal since its first approval 20 years ago.
